Here is some quick advice: if you’re feeling overwhelmed by your goal, break it down into smaller, more manageable chunks. We are not future-oriented beings – we are all about the now! It is hard for us to invest completely in something that could take a very long time see through. Break your goal down into smaller stepping stones rather than looking at it as one giant leap. You will generate confidence through the small victories, and these will propel you towards the ideal final place you’d like to end up!
Heck, I’m over a meter off making the Olympics (although I prefer to look at it as 100 centimeters rather than 1 meter.. it seems less scary this way). It would be very easy for me to feel overwhelmed if I was constantly thinking about this enormous distance that I must jump in order to achieve my dream. Instead, I think about what I can do each day to chip away at that distance. If everyday I can make a slight improvement in practice, eventually I will have the sum of many slight improvements – a HUGE improvement! And just like that, voila, I will have achieved my goal!
You can achieve anything you desire, just remember the formula!
Small daily improvement + small daily improvement + small daily improvement… etc = STAGGERING LONG-TERM RESULTS!
